Danielle Philapil (she/her) started dancing at the age of three, training in jazz, tap, ballet, musical theater, hula and Tahitian. She was an instructor in musical theater, hula and Tahitian at Spark of Creation Studio in 2008, while continuing her training throughout the Bay Area. Danielle moved to Los Angeles and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. She performed in theaters across Los Angeles, as well as the Bay Area. Some of her favorite roles include Anita – West Side Story, Kate – Wild Party, and Pennywise – Urinetown. She was nominated for Best Featured Actress in a Musical at the Bay Area Theater Critics Circle in 2018 for her performance as Anita in West Side Story at Hillbarn Theater. Since that time, she took a break from performing to become a mom to Rorie and Luna. Both girls have the same love for music and dance as their mom. Danielle is excited to return home to Spark of Creation Studio. Performing has always been a positive outlet for her, a safe place in her life. It has given her the tools to succeed, not just on stage, but more importantly off. She looks forward to sharing her love for the arts with her students, while also creating a safe and supportive environment for them to grow as well rounded, confident individuals.
